Komatsu has begun recommending AXO80 for axle applications in some of their construction equipment. This fluid is a new-generation oil designed similarly to tractor hydraulic fluids. However, it is also formulated with unique friction modifiers and has an elevated viscosity and viscosity index, separating it from traditional tractor hydraulic fluids.
Dyna-Plex 21C Premium Trac Gard has been formulated to meet the special specifications of the Komatsu AXO80. The viscosity is elevated to 10.50 centistokes at 100C and the viscosity index is greater than 140. These changes from the current Trac Gard, along with the use of a premium additive package for enhanced wear and chatter protection, make the Dyna-Plex 21C Premium Trac Gard an excellent choice for the Komatsu axle applications calling for AXO80.
Recent experience has indicated that the Komatsu equipment experiences chatter at the end of a drain interval or after excessive "roading". End users need to make certain the proper fluid is being used for the given application to prevent such occurrences. The Premium Trac Gard is recommended for many of the Komatsu applications. Due to its tractor hydraulic fluid capability, as well as its axle oil coverage, the Premium Trac Gard will meet many operators' needs.
